The Central Handling Area is an essential item if rearing pigs outside

Yes, you can get away with sheep hurdles until your pigs decide to make a dash for it!  We tried to handle ours with hurdles and vowed never to do it again, so designed this system and when we vaccinated for erysipelas it was so stress free and easy, we never looked back.

Pig Handling Area

The central handling area allows you to set up your paddock (or multiple paddocks) with a single gate which will form part of the central handling area when you need it.  All you need to do is set up your paddocks around the fully formed central handling area then remove two of the gates, this gives you corridor access, very useful if you operate a radial system.  When you need to move, load, vaccinate or inspect your pigs simply connect the two side gates and, as shown, you now have complete control over your animals.  The gates are powder coated to give you some protection from electric fence and are easy open and close.  At the end of each gate is a spike which is pressed into the ground, all you then need is a small fence post driven in to give extra support.
